About Karl

Karl, originally from Austria, boasts a wealth of international experience in the intralogistics sector accumulated over his career. The ever-changing challenges in the industry have always kept him interested and passionate. Karl's expertise has been instrumental in providing solutions for prominent clients, including Natura Cosméticos in Brazil, Alshaya in the Middle East, and Office Depot in Europe. In recent years, his focus shifted to building next-generation automation solutions in Australia, with customers in the Retail, FMCG, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Karl's extensive experience has led him to the realisation that many solution providers remain entrenched in traditional approaches, prioritising the sale of their hardware over tailoring the ideal customer solution. Motivated to disrupt this pattern, Karl founded dereOida Pty Ltd, a venture that allowed him to collaborate with leading intralogistics suppliers, software architects, and consultants.

In September 2023, the significant development came when Ferag acquired dereOida. With this strategic move, Karl assumed the roles of Ferag APAC Managing Director and Head of the Region. The acquisition has enhanced Ferag's standing as a full-service integrator and supplier of comprehensive intralogistics solutions. These offerings are designed to provide customers with the tools to navigate new market conditions efficiently, facilitated by a unified interface system for enhanced information access and control.
